Weight Loss Entry #6 – A Little Rocky?

Good evening, ladies and gent! Welcome back to week 6 of my weight loss journal. And if this is your first time, thanks for checking out my weight loss entry. Every week I track my weight loss as I go from overweight back to fit. You can check out my first weigh in here. If you want to learn more about me, check my story here!

In a short recap of Week 5, I had lost 1 lb going from 211.8 to 210.8. I was accustomed to losing 2 lbs a week, so my antennas are definitely up, worried about reaching a potential plateau.

Well as of this week, I did continue my positive progression. I went from 210.8 to 210, which is a 0.8 lb loss.

Now don’t take it the wrong way, I love that I am losing weight. It’s just that, I really hate plateaus haha. If you are lucky, it could only last a week or two. However, if you are not, it could go on for at least a month, which I most certainly don’t want. The weight loss is great, but I am going to strive for at least 1.5lbs/week.

My workout stayed the same as you can see below:

However, I did make a change to my macros. Last week, I mentioned that I would consider reducing my carbs to jump my weight loss efforts. So I decided to decrease my carbs by 20, to 200. My new macros are as follows:

Calories: 2200

I decreased my carbs, last Thursday. I will give me body time to adjust before I change anything else. You always want to give your body some time after each change. If you keep jumping in and out of things, your body will be uneven and your weight will be all over the place!

Just wanted to quickly check in with you guys. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and let’s continue to reach our weight loss goals

  1. Great job and good info! I hate plateaus too. They can really take a toll on your mental. They make you feel like you’ve been doing all that work for nothing. Keep at it!

  2. It looks like you are improving your overall health and fitness despite the weightloss plateau. All the best with your journey.

  3. Sounds like it is going great, better to lose a little as it will stay off. The exercise is adding muscle too, so ignore the scales and keep doing what you are doing xx

  4. Good for you! My boyfriend is on a low carb diet right now and he is dropping weight fast but he is tired of eating bacon and cheese all the time lol. Are you doing all low carb all the time or are you switching it up?

    1. Hey Sasha, I track my macros. So I usually eat about 200g of carbs a day. So I guess that is a moderate amount. You will lose a lot on a low carb diet but eventually, when you hit that plateau and have to cut more carbs, it will be painful!

  5. Congratulations on prioritizing taking care of yourself in a way that feels good to you. Wishing you all the best!

  6. This is great what you are doing. I love the accountability and trying to pinpoint what happened and when changes were made. I need to do this!

  7. Good for you! I need to lose some pounds as well due to being of a certain age and not wanting to acquire chronic conditions that extra weight can bring on. I like the idea of adjusting the macros as needed instead of going all paleo.

    1. I agree with you Sona. Diets are very exhausting, but once you achieve your goal, you will be happy that you did it.

    1. I have heard a lot of good things about the keto diet, but I would need to do some research on it.

  8. I don’t think I could be as committed as you. Your workout schedule demands much and doesn’t really leave you much time to slack off. What’s the hardest thing about sticking to it?

    1. There is a commitment to it but there is enough time in there for me to “slack off.” The hardest thing for me is not being able to eat what my friends eat, but eventually, I’ll be done.

  9. Yikes! I hope you don’t get my comment twice. Right now I can’t see anything but I got PHP errors on the first try, so hit refresh, was warned about duplicates so backed off. I can see Tiffany Arlene has managed to post three times above. I wonder if she had the same problems?

  10. Wow! Glad that you’re monitoring your weight loss progress so minutely and getting a result of your dedication! Good luck for the rest of your journey!
